In Joel Stein’s article, “How Trolls Are Ruining the Internet,” Stein talks about his position on Internet trolling and how these trolls are ruining the lives of people with a simple comment or word. He talks about how they feed on the attention from their victims and how they are taking a toll on may people. In this article, it also talks about a survey called , “The Pew Research Center Survey,” where they found that about 70% of the people they surveyed, between 18-20, both women and men, have been either harassed or stalked on the internet. Stein says, “This is exactly what trolls want.” These trolls look for the “best ones” to pick on and hurt them as best as they can.
In my opinion, trolling has been out of hand and it has been destroying people inside and out, but no matter what people do to stop trolling from happening, it won’t stop. These people live for the thought of hurting many people. They won’t stop till they are satisfied. Their willpower and hunger will be hard to contain and stop. I feel like the best thing to do if you are experiencing this harassment is to ignore what they say and not show these trolls you are affected by their comments.
